Geraldine O’Hare is Skills for Work Co-ordinator (West Region) for the Mayo Sligo Leitrim Education and Training Board and she called into our office this week to tell us about free IT training they are offering at the moment.
They have Communications through Computers, and another one specifically for farmers who, as you may know, are now faced with having to record online movement of animals, and other key information.
The courses are completely free, run for three hours per week for seven weeks, and there are no exams at the end. The emphasis is on learning skills you will need for life and work. The only criteria of note is that participants should have few, out-dated or no educational qualifications.
