Today I am at the international airport “Mother Teresa” in Tirana, ready to fly to Ireland.
Every time I travel, I am very happy because of new adventures that are waiting for me. For one thing, I’m sure, I feel that after this experience, many things will change in my life.
First of all, I want to introduce myself and the purpose of this journey.
I am Vasjan Broka, a 25-year-old male from Tirana, Albania, who wants to become a successful entrepreneur in the future. A few weeks ago I won a fund from the United Nations to establish my own enterprise. During my application for funding in the United Nations self- employment program, I was introduced to a special and fantastic program of the European Commission called Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.
We Albanians have an expression, synchronicity is the king of the world. I had the opportunity to meet Mrs Alida Kondi at a conference organized in Tirana for Europe Enterprise Network promotion.
Mrs Alida is the Director of the Center for Promotion of Competence which is an intermediary organization for applying to the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program in Albania. The application in this program was quite clear and was made easier with the help of Mrs Alida.
The main requirement was the introduction of a simple business plan for my idea. After submitting and getting a positive feedback for the business plan, I gained the right to join the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program and had the opportunity to choose a business, where I can spend 3 months.
During these three months, I will have the opportunity to work closely with Liam Horan, a successful entrepreneur from Ireland. His business is called Sli Nua Careers and is located in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland.
This business specialises in career coaching, interview training, CV preparations, and mock interviews and helps students and employees to get that job or college place. I hope this will be a summer full of discoveries and experience in the entrepreneurship world.
I will keep you posted on my experiences.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other participating countries.
The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepreneur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and gets the opportunities to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new markets. More HERE.
