IT Sligo students who wish to brush up their curriculum vitae can avail of a free CV critique service in the college on Tuesday next, November 29th.
“A good CV can make a huge difference in your efforts to find a job, or to gain promotion,” explained Liam Horan of Sli Nua Careers, who are running the free CV critique session as part of the IT Sligo Graduate Fair.
“A CV exists to sell you as a potential employee, and it is amazing how a few simple tweaks can help. The golden rule is to tailor your CV to the requirements of every job you apply for, rather than just sending out the exact same CV over and over again.
“Every employer is looking for something in the successful candidate – if you’ve got what the employer is looking for, your CV should make that abundantly clear from the very outset.”
No appointments are necessary for the CV critique session. Each critique will take approximately ten minutes, and you can obtain more information by emailing GetThatJob@SliNuaCareers.com with ‘Sligo critique session’ in the subject line.
